A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Custodian / Cleaner - 32 Hours Per Week We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented cleaner to join our team in a school environment. This is an entry-level position that supports our experienced full-time custodial staff. - 32 hours per week
- Four weekdays per week (8-hour shifts)
- No weekends
- No holidays
- School closure days off
- Summer schedule: Day shift (approximately 9:00 AM-5:00 PM)
- School year: Afternoon/evening shift (approximately 3:00-4:00 PM until 11:00 PM-12:00 AM)
- Some flexibility with which weekdays you work, depending on staffing needs. Responsibilities
- Assist in cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Empty trash and replace liners
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces
- Operate commercial cleaning equipment such as auto scrubbers, floor machines, and vacuums (training provided)
- Restock restroom and cleaning supplies
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to senior staff Qualifications
- Reliable attendance and dependable transportation
- Ability to work independently and follow direction from experienced team members
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds and perform routine physical cleaning tasks
- Previous commercial cleaning experience is helpful but not required—we are happy to train someone who is motivated and eager to learn
