A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Summary of Job We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our library staff as a Part-Time Cleaning Assistant .

Schedule:

2-3 hours per day Flexible schedule (to be discussed) Part-time position If you take pride in keeping spaces clean and enjoy contributing to a welcoming community environment, we'd love to hear from you! This position will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Early application is encouraged.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize library restrooms Vacuum and mop floors Empty trash and recycling bins Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for library patrons and staff Perform other light cleaning duties as needed

Dependable and punctual Able to work independently Attention to detail Previous cleaning experience is helpful but not required Paid Vacation, pro-rated Free membership to the New London Aquatic & Fitness Center for employee.
