Job Summary We are seeking energetic and dedicated Full or Part-time Custodians to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across various facility spaces. Your proactive approach to cleaning, sanitation, and basic maintenance will ensure our premises meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. This position offers flexible hours and an opportunity to contribute to a positive environment for students, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums. Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a secure environment. Conduct janitorial duties including trash removal, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain sanitation standards. Operate cleaning machinery and equipment efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or residential painting to support overall facility upkeep. Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or equipment during manual handling tasks. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs promptly. Skills Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning practices is a plus but training will be provided. Strong understanding of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical agent handling safety procedures. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Excellent manual handling skills with a focus on safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques. Customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with staff and students when needed. Basic facilities maintenance skills including minor repairs and industrial cleaning tasks.
