Join Sheboygan County as a Custodian and play a vital role in maintaining the buildings and public spaces that serve our community every day. In this role, you'll help ensure County facilities are safe, sanitary, and welcoming for employees, residents, and visitors. If you're reliable, detail-oriented, and enjoy hands-on work, this could be a great fit. As part of our Building Services team, you'll help maintain County facilities through a variety of custodial and cleaning responsibilities, including: Cleaning and maintaining County buildings through daily tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing. Sanitizing restrooms, clinical areas, and high-touch surfaces. Maintaining floors and carpets using specialized cleaning equipment. Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables. Restocking cleaning supplies and organizing storage areas. Performing periodic deep-cleaning duties including vents, stairwells, baseboards, and other detailed cleaning tasks. Assisting with opening and closing facilities to help ensure building security. Identifying and reporting maintenance, repair, or safety concerns. Supporting custodial operations across multiple County buildings as needed. Takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and organized environments. Is dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Can safely operate cleaning equipment and follow established procedures. Pays attention to detail and notices what needs to be done. Communicates effectively and works well as part of a team. Is flexible and willing to support different locations or assignments. Follows safety practices, including proper use of cleaning products and personal protective equipment (PPE). This is a second shift position. Work is performed primarily indoors within County facilities. Position involves standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion throughout the shift. Exposure to cleaning agents, dust, and occasional biohazard materials may occur, with appropriate safety procedures and PPE provided.
