• 11:00AM Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Custodian to join our team in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the animals, staff, and visitors.

This vital role involves performing thorough cleaning duties across our facilities, ensuring sanitation standards are met. Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting specific areas within the shelter Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move supplies or equipment as needed Maintain sanitation standards in public areas, restrooms, and common spaces Ensure compliance with safety guidelines during all custodial activities to promote a safe environment for staff, visitors, and animals Arrange rooms for meetings and/or events Qualifications Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred; familiarity with commercial cleaning practices is a plus Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique Strong attention to safety protocol adherence and facility maintenance standards Excellent customer service skills when interacting with staff or visitors in shared spaces Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety Ability to clearly communicate Be a creative and critical thinker
