A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

A Day Porter is required to clean and maintain public areas in and outside of a building or complex. Maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness, as well as, the appearance of office or building locations. Works well in a team or individual setting to accomplish goals. Accountable for the overall cleaning, general maintenance, and communication of each building's needs. Schedule is from Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 3:30PM Day Porter Job Description Maintain the lobby area, sidewalk areas, elevators, stairwells, parking areas, landscape areas, utility areas, gutters, and statuary areas as necessary and at the direction of the Operations Manager Maintain break rooms, restocking of condiments, wiping down appliances, chairs, tables, and doors. Maintain throughout the day the lobby area, sidewalk areas, elevators, stairwells, parking areas, plaza areas, landscape areas, utility areas, gutters, and statuary areas as necessary and at the direction of the building Manager. Perform thorough general cleaning including trash pickup, dust mopping, vacuuming carpets and routine mopping of floors. Clean and disinfect lavatory fixtures throughout the building on a routine basis. Follow schedule as directed by Building Management. Maintain supplies in lavatories including soap and paper for dispensers on a routine basis. Spot clean and dust throughout the facility on a routine basis. Clean, vacuum, and wet vacuum all lobby mats when necessary. Perform and coordinate the setup and break down of meeting rooms as requested by the service requisition. Return recycling bins to the proper floors. Other job duties may be assigned based on customer or management. Keep track of inventory. Complete tasks on work tickets. Inspect the building and report incomplete tasks to the manager.
Experience:
Must have good communication skills. Ability to work independently. Must have basic computer skills Willingness to use initiative and handle extra duties as needed. Able to stand or walk during entire shift to accomplish tasks. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. Basic English skills preferred Able to lift, carry, push, and pull 25lbs. frequently and up to 50lbs. occasionally.

Pay:
$17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
