What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
The custodian ensures spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces, sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets, wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g., soap), wipe mirrors and windows, use approved chemicals and clean areas according to Matrix provided by the Facility Project ManagerPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
