GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for Wyoming Army National Guard personnel and visitors as a part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician at the Douglas Armory . This position plays an important role in supporting daily operations by ensuring the facility and surrounding grounds are well-maintained, functional, and presentable year-round. Responsibilities include performing a variety of custodial and facility maintenance duties, such as cleaning and maintaining offices, classrooms, restrooms, hallways, gym areas, kitchens, and common spaces. You will operate and maintain a variety of equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, lawnmowers, and other custodial and groundskeeping tools to ensure facilities remain in excellent condition. This position also supports facility safety and compliance efforts by inspecting emergency lighting and fire extinguishers, maintaining inventory of custodial supplies, managing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and adhering to OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety standards. In addition, you will identify facility maintenance needs and coordinate repairs through established work order processes. Seasonal grounds maintenance duties include mowing, trimming, weed control, landscaping, caring for trees and shrubs, and snow removal during winter months. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. Responsible for general cleaning, vacuuming floors and furniture, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting, washing windows and mirrors, cleaning/stocking restrooms, bathrooms, classrooms, kitchen, hallways, gym, and offices. Operates and maintains equipment, including hand tools, vacuums, carpet shampooer, extractor, floor scrubber, square scrub, floor buffer, lawnmower, and weed eater. Inspects and documents emergency lighting and fire extinguishers for proper operation. Maintains storage of custodial supplies; requests replenishments as needed. Identifies facility material deficiencies and submits work order requests to the Supervisor and the Construction Facilities Management Office. Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all cleaning supplies and chemicals used and stored on site. Complies with state and federal policies such as OSHA and EPA, determining the compatibility of different chemicals. Performs ground maintenance duties, including mowing and weeding grass in the summer months and caring for and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers, and snow removal in the winter months. REQUIREMENTS
Preference may be given to those with a High School Diploma Plus 6 months of progressive work experience, typically in Building and Grounds. •Agency requires the successful applicant to have a valid Driver's License •Agency requires the successful applicant to obtain/maintain a Federal Security Clearance.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and understanding of SDS sheets to ensure knowledge of potentially hazardous chemicals. Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and more technical cleaning and maintenance methods. Skilled in custodial maintenance. Skilled in operating light and heavy-duty equipment. Knowledge of basic math, irrigation systems, basic electricity, and lawn care. Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogens.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)
OR Education & Experience Substitution:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, chemicals, biohazards, and potential explosives. Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs. Must be able to operate cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment. This position is considered essential personnel and will be required to respond during inclement weather for snow removal operations. •Employee may be subject to after-hours call back or reporting to work outside of their normally scheduled hours •

Non-exempt This is a permanent Part-Time position working 80 hours per month. The position will be eligible for pro-rated Annual and Sick Leave.
