Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across various commercial and residential spaces. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies. Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting to uphold hygiene standards. Operate floor care equipment including buffers and polishers to maintain shiny, well-maintained flooring. Assist with industrial cleaning projects requiring specialized techniques or equipment for large-scale or heavy-duty tasks. Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and general upkeep to ensure optimal working conditions. Follow safety protocols during all cleaning procedures and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly. Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks efficiently and ensure timely completion of cleaning schedules. Requirements Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with a strong understanding of commercial or residential cleaning practices. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing surfaces. Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as vacuums, floor buffers, and industrial cleaners safely and effectively. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks like minor repairs or painting is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple cleaning responsibilities. Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
