Overview We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including doughs and batters, and measuring wet and dry ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during peak hours. Follow food handling guidelines to maintain safety and quality standards. Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials. Assist with catering events as needed. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers. Requirements Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred. Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations. Previous bakery experience preferred. Ability to measure wet and dry ingredients, use a digital scale, and scale recipes. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. A passion for great food, BBQ and willingness to learn new skills.
