We started as a food truck and are now a growing brick-and-mortar operation. Position Summary We're looking for a reliable, hardworking morning-shift kitchen staff member to help open the restaurant and prep the kitchen for the day. This role is critical to setting the team up for a smooth, successful service. Key Responsibilities Arrive on time to open and prepare the kitchen for daily operations Perform opening checklist duties: equipment power-up, griddle/fryer heat-up, ventilation/hood system startup sequence Prep ingredients for the day (portioning meat, chopping vegetables, prepping sauces and toppings) Follow food safety and storage procedures, including proper handling of raw and breaded proteins Cook and assemble menu items to spec (smashburgers, chicken sandwiches, sides) following recipe and portion standards Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift Monitor food quality and freshness; rotate stock using FIFO principles Restock kitchen stations as needed Communicate equipment issues (griddle, fryers, freezer, hood system) to management promptly Follow all halal food handling and preparation standards Assist with light closing/handoff duties for the mid-shift team as needed Qualifications Prior kitchen or food service experience preferred, but not required — we're willing to train the right person Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods Strong attention to detail and food safety awareness Punctual and dependable — this is an opening shift, so on-time arrival is essential Team player with good communication skills Food Handler's Card required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) Must be able to lift up to 30-40 lbs and work near hot equipment What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Employee meal discounts Opportunity to grow with a locally owned, expanding restaurant A supportive, close-knit team environment
