Kitchen Assistant - Temporary

Terms and Benefits Pay $22.75 per hour Sick pay (accrued bi-weekly) 36 - 40 hours per week Occasional weekends

Job Summary:

The Kitchen Assistant-Temporary is responsible for assembling food product containers and packaging, and maintaining the kitchen and related facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for assembling food product containers and packaging in the correct manner. Seal and label containers with the appropriate materials with product information. Assists with organizing serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas. Assists in maintaining kitchen supplies. Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Certified in Food Safety and Food Handler. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to understand and meet kitchen standards for health, safety, and excellence. Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced. Detail-oriented and thorough. Have experience with performing repetitive tasks with efficiency and ease.

Education and Experience:

Valid ServSafe Certification required. 1 year of large kitchen cooking experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of walking or standing. Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed. Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently. Must frequently immerse hands in water. Must be able to work in a hot and damp environment.
