Work Schedule Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-2:30

In-person attendance is required every day. This consistent in-person morning schedule is an essential expectation of the position. Report at 9:30 each day to East Charleston Road to assist with preparing, packaging and organizing catered meals, loading the transport van, delivering to the secondary location in downtown Palo Alto, unloading and helping with service. After service, return to East Charleston Road to clean the dining room and kitchen at the end of service every day. Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols in a licensed kitchen. Must have kitchen experience and experience driving a van-sized vehicle; must have a clean, valid California driver's license. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, follows directions, and can work as a team member. You'll be working every day directly under the supervision of the Head Chef on a weekly prep schedule. Dependability and focus matter. This is a part-time role with room to grow. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our senior diners, promoting their well-being and satisfaction through delicious, nutritious meals. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, adhering to food safety standards and JCAHO regulations Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures Ensure safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks and manual handling of supplies or equipment Contribute to inventory management by organizing supplies and assisting with stock rotation Requirements Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and food safety protocols Ability to work efficiently with older adults. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks in a busy kitchen environment Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively Basic skills for portioning, checking temperatures and inventory tasks Commitment to workplace safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds), and perform manual handling tasks
Pay:
$25.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
