Duties Assist with the preparation of sushi, including slicing fish, rolling sushi, and assembling ingredients with precision and care Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards Handle food ingredients safely, ensuring proper storage and handling procedures are followed at all times Contribute to menu planning by suggesting innovative sushi combinations and presentation ideas Participate in food service activities, including plating dishes efficiently and serving customers when needed Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation throughout all food preparation processes Support catering events by preparing sushi platters and assisting with setup and breakdown Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Familiarity with food handling, safety protocols, and kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant settings Basic knife skills and experience with food preparation or meal assembly are highly desirable Strong interest in culinary arts, especially fine dining or Japanese cuisine, is a plus Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen operations Willingness to learn new techniques related to sushi making and food presentation Embark on an exciting culinary adventure where your skills grow daily!
