Job Description

Kitchen Assistant Job Overview The Kitchen Assistant supports Food Lab classes and events by keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and fully functional. This is not a cooking role . The primary responsibility is greeting guests, pouring wine, assisting both chef and guests during class, dishwashing, cleaning, and kitchen reset, which is essential to the flow and success of each class. This role works closely with Chef Instructors to support guest experience by maintaining a safe, sanitary, and professional kitchen environment before, during, and after classes. Key Responsibilities Dishwashing & Sanitation (Primary Focus) Wash dishes, cookware, tools, and equipment continuously during and after classes Sanitize surfaces, sinks, and dish areas to food safety standards Keep dish stations organized and running efficiently at all times Kitchen Setup & Reset Assist with class setup by placing tools, equipment, and supplies Reset and clean the kitchen between classes Ensure workstations remain clean, uncluttered, and ready for use Class & Guest Support Support instructors by keeping the kitchen functional during classes Assist with water, beverages, and light hospitality needs as directed Respond quickly to instructor requests to support class flow What We're Looking For Someone who takes pride in cleanliness and organization Ability to handle high-volume dishwashing in a fast-paced environment Reliable, punctual, and able to stay focused during busy class periods Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs Team-oriented attitude and willingness to help where needed Part time, 2-4 shifts per week This role is ideal for someone who understands that a great guest experience starts with a clean, well-run kitchen.
