Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced food service environment, with opportunities for growth and advancement. Responsibilities Food preparation and kitchen support Preparing and plating menu items alongside the Head Cook Independently preparing and fulfilling orders during slower dining periods Inventory management and stock rotation Maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas Mopping floors, trash removal, and general facility upkeep Moving floor mats in and out daily Assisting with opening and closing kitchen procedures Ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are followed Skills A quick learner Able to follow both verbal and written instructions Detail-oriented and organized A self-starter who takes initiative Proactive and willing to jump in where needed Comfortable working independently Trustworthy and dependable Reliable and punctual Able to communicate effectively with team members and customers Qualifications Prior kitchen or food service experience is helpful but not required Recent graduates from culinary or vocational cooking programs are encouraged to apply Willingness to learn and grow within the business Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds Climb step stools safely Repeatedly navigate stairs throughout a shift Stand for extended periods Perform physical cleaning and maintenance tasks Communicate effectively with coworkers and management Compensation Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. Schedule 25hrs (Some flexibility may be available)
