Job Description

Job Description We are looking to hire new kitchen team members to work at Saleya Riviera Cafe during our Dinner Service. Applicants must be mature, career focused individuals with a willngness to help the team in whatever capacity is required. We maintain an organized and respectful kitchen environment and ask all employees to help maintain that. We do prefer that applicants have some previous experience working in cafes, delis or restaurants, but are willing to train the right person who is detail oriented with a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic. The restaurant is open from 11AM
  • 9PM Monday
  • Thursday and 11AM
  • 10PM Friday and Saturday. This job is for 5 days a week from 2:30 PM
  • 10:30PM.
Working Friday and Saturday is mandatory, with time off requests being considered on an as requested basis. Benefits are available after 90 days for full time employees. Applicants must have basic knife skills and be comfortable using a slicer. A sense of urgency is imperative for this position. Responsibilities Prepare the components that make up our various dishes such as, sandwich spreads, cut raw vegetables, salad dressings, sliced deli meats, condiments. Work on a food preparation station during service with other staff to prepare the completed menu items. Learn our standards of preparation for the various recipes Maintain strict food handling and safety standards, including proper storage, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures Support kitchen operations by organizing ingredients, utensils, and supplies for efficient workflow Help with dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and overall kitchen sanitation to uphold hygiene standards Assist other staff with cleaning between and after services Assist other staff with prep between and during services Skills Prior culinary or kitchen experience in restaurants is preferred Knowledge of major allergens and dietary restrictions Basic knowledge of ingredients and cooking methods Food preparation and cooking skills, including knife handling and meal assembly techniques Ability to follow detailed instructions for recipe preparation and dish assembly Ability to be self motivated and take initiative Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures Familiarity with kitchen equipment, utensils, and cleaning protocols necessary for maintaining a hygienic workspace
