In this role, you will be essential in supporting daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, has some kitchen or food industry experience, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills and contribute to delivering quality meals in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following established recipes and safety guidelines. Support cooking activities by preparing components of meals according to menu specifications and culinary standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, ovens, and other appliances. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces to adhere to food safety regulations. Help with inventory management by organizing supplies, rotating stock, and reporting shortages or issues. Follow all safety standards during food handling and production to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and smooth kitchen operations. Experience Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous but not mandatory. Food service or restaurant experience provides a strong foundation for this role. Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques is preferred. Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures is essential. Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment and knife skills such as slicing techniques will be highly valued. Catering experience or culinary background can enhance your ability to meet diverse food preparation needs. Effective communication skills are important for coordinating with team members and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
