Kitchen Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic, friendly and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join the Baby Bengal Team! In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring smooth meal preparation, food handling, and service. Your enthusiasm for food and commitment to cleanliness will help create a welcoming environment for both our families and children. This position offers a flexible schedule on campus! Duties Sole person responsible for food preparation and handling under the supervision of chefs and kitchen managers, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards. Handle ingredients with care, following proper food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination. Use knife skills effectively for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other prep tasks to support meal assembly. Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes for service, ensuring timely delivery during busy periods. Support food service operations by setting up serving stations, replenishing supplies, and maintaining organized and clean work areas. Follow all food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspaces throughout shifts to uphold sanitation standards. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and a positive working environment. Requirements Must obtain Child and Infant CPR and Enhanced Background Clearance prior to start date. Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation processes is highly desirable. Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks comfortably.

Pay:

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
