Starlight Cafe Associate 19816 Huber Road, Borden, IN 47106 Part-time Part-time Position Summary The Starlight Cafe Associate is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food items for the Starlight Café at Huber's Orchard & Winery. This role ensures that all food is prepared according to recipes and quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portioning, and presentation standards. Assist with prepping ingredients such as chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and assembling ingredients for daily service. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively to prepare menu items. Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout shifts, ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety standards. Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food products to maintain freshness and minimize waste. Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control. Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure efficient service and timely food production. Assist with dishwashing or bussing tasks as needed to support overall kitchen operations. Maintain a professional and positive demeanor when in guest areas, ensuring a welcoming café environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in food preparation or kitchen operations preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen sanitation standards. Ability to follow recipes and directions accurately. Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasons as scheduled. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods in a hot fast-paced environment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
