Qdoba - Cook / Team Member Job DescriptionPosition Title Cook / Team Member Position Summary The Cook / Team Member is responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, and delivering excellent guest service. This role supports daily operations by ensuring accurate portioning, fast service, and adherence to Qdoba standards. Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Execution Prepare and cook menu items (chicken, steak, rice, beans, queso, etc.) according to company recipes and standards Follow proper portioning to control food costs and reduce variance Maintain food quality, freshness, and presentation at all times Ensure all prep tasks are completed accurately and on time Food Safety & Cleanliness Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines Keep workstations clean, stocked, and organized Properly label, date, and store food items Complete cleaning checklists and maintain kitchen standards Guest Service Greet guests and provide friendly, fast service Accurately assemble orders to guest specifications Maintain a positive attitude and work as part of the team Resolve minor guest concerns professionally and escalate when needed Teamwork & Operations Work effectively with team members to meet speed and service goals Communicate clearly during shifts (e.g., low product, prep needs) Follow direction from management and shift leaders Assist with opening, closing, and shift change duties Qualifications Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred but not required Ability to follow instructions and recipes Strong attention to detail (especially portioning and quality) Good communication and teamwork skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Lift up to 30-50 lbs Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment (heat, noise, movement) Schedule Requirements Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to work varying shifts based on business needs Performance Expectations (Optional - Good for Your Store) (Aligned with your focus on food cost control and operations) Maintain accurate portioning to minimize food variance Meet speed of service standards Follow all prep and cook procedures consistently Support a clean and inspection-ready kitchen at all times
I Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
