  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus
  • Courteous, professional presentation, cooperative and positive attitude when working with people of various ethnicities, languages and personality types
  • Must have a valid driver's license Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fall River operates Emergency Food Programs provided through Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen.
The Soup Kitchen is located at Sr. Rose shelter, a DHCD-funded individual emergency overnight shelter programs for men and women facing a housing crisis. The Meals Center Crew is responsible for managing the day to day operation of the dining area, providing great customer service for clients and assuring the safety and cleanliness of the soup kitchen. Duties and Responsibilities The Meals Center Crew is responsible for ensuring the functions of the program are met while providing services that are safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and client-centered. Ability to work as part of a team Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times Must exemplify our mission in action: which is helping those in need and treating others with compassion, dignity and respect Must manage multiple priorities, maintain effective time management skills, and plan and organize duties accordingly Maintaining health and safety standards of the dining area at all times Assist the Meals Program Coordinator with meal prep and serving food Assist with cleaning, including, but not limited to, tables, chairs, rails and doors following each meal served Additional cleaning includes, sweeping and mopping dining area, kitchen and bathroom Operating automated dish washer, cleaning dishes, utensils, cups and trays and putting away Assist with unloading supplies and maintaining stockroom Assist with the preparation of dinner service Maintaining the number of individuals allowed in the dining area at one time Crowd control management, assessing client altercation and monitoring dining area, kitchen area, bathrooms and outside the building Assist with labeling and dating all items upon storing Must follow all sanitation requirements: hair nets and gloves must be worn while assisting with food preparation Interact with all individuals in a friendly, positive and professional manner and report any complaints or issues to the House Manager Assist in coordinating, supporting and training volunteers Secure the building at end of shift Must exhibit excellent communication skills Additional Responsibilities
  • Attend all required program trainings and assigned in-service trainings to comply with annual training requirements
  • Comply with all safety regulations, CCFR policies and adhere to agency confidentiality policy

  • Travels by automobile and is exposed to varying weather conditions
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, grasps, kneels, crouches, reaches, climbs, and moves intermittently during the business hours
  • Works in soup kitchen as well as throughout Sr. Rose shelter
  • May be exposed to emotionally upset clients, family members, staff and visitors
  • May be exposed to frequent interruptions, loud noise, extreme heat/cold
  • Ability to make sensory perceptions to evaluate environmental conditions Ability to work and promote a flexible schedule based on coverage
