Responsibilities Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and menu plans Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, ovens, and food processors Follow strict food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met at all times Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment regularly Support with food portioning, slicing techniques, and meal assembly to ensure consistency and quality Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service Adhere to safety standards during all stages of food production to prevent accidents or contamination Skills Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food safety management and handling practices Proficiency in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques Skilled in operating various kitchen appliances and equipment safely Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment Ability to perform food industry tasks such as catering, serving, and maintaining hygiene standards Demonstrated knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient food prep Prior restaurant or food service experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for culinary arts is essential This role offers an energetic environment where your culinary talents can flourish.
