Job Summary:
This Kitchen Porter/Steward position ensures the kitchen remains clean and organized by washing dishes, sanitizing work areas, maintaining kitchen equipment, and completing all necessary janitorial tasks.

Ensure kitchen area is clean, well maintained and organized at all times. Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times. Oversee all equipment is clean and in good working order. Ensure waste areas are clean and tidy. Supervise and train Kitchen Workers in the dish-pit area. Oversee Xanterra and National Park Service standards are met throughout kitchen area. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to oversee the operation and maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen area. Must be familiar with proper use of chemicals, and draining and filling dish machines. Must have experience as a supervisor or lead role in a Back of the House/dish-pit function. Ability to communicate clearly to create a Teamwork environment. Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
Physical Requirements include:
Stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours. Walk for long periods of time. Lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds. Bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time. Must be able to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
