Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional food experiences! Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation and food handling to support the kitchen supervisor and in creating delicious dishes. Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, and organizing supplies using proper knife skills. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Follow food safety standards and hygiene protocols to ensure a safe environment for all staff and customers. Support by preparing food items and setting up serving stations efficiently. Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs. Serve food during meal service, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer experience. Must be able to make meals independently, as breakfast and dinner service will be split between the two in the kitchen. Be able to plan meals for 60 or more. Requirements Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential. Basic cooking skills along with proficiency in knife handling and food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. A genuine interest in culinary arts and the food industry is highly desirable.
