Cook Christ Like Childcare Greensboro, NC Job Details Part-time From $11.50 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Cooking High school diploma or GED Driver's License Driving Food preparation Full Job Description Attend all center staff meetings Maintain positive interactions with staff, children, and families of the school Follow all policies as designated by state licensing and by CNI Prepare the food served to the children in accordance with the meal patterns required by the childcare food program Follow the menus that have been developed and notify the director of any deviation from the posted menu Wash, rinse and sanitize dishes and pots/ pans and replace on shelves Work with the director to order monthly food items Pull all back dated food items forward upon the arrival of new food order and put new food on shelves and in containers Wear a hair net at all times Maintain a high level of cleanliness in accordance with the standards set by the division of environmental health Perform cleaning duties including scour sinks, straighten and wipe out refrigerator, wipe down stove and fan, empty garbage after lunch and at the end of the day, sweep and mop kitchen floor, clean and sanitize office/staff bathrooms, clean oven, clean trash can with bleach and water, clean counter tops with bleach and water, defrost and clean out freezers, clean, sweep and mop laundry room, dust shelves in kitchen and laundry room, and use fresh wash rinse sterile water in sinks between washing Assist with preparing all paperwork required by the food program including meal counts and production records Be able to goto the store to replenish items Willing to do other duties as assigned The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritionally balanced meals for the children. This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality food production and portion control using standard recipes and also for appropriate quantities of food needed to meet menu requirements. This is including but not limited to cleaning, sanitizing and preparing meals. In addition to assisting the children during their meal times, encouraging and teaching portion control the Cook encourages the children to try new foods and observe basic nutrition habits as they make their own salads from a selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables. This position also performs a variety of maintenance tasks such as sweeping,light mopping,and maintaining refrigerators,freezers and store rooms in a neat and clean order. In the absence of the Kitchen Supervisor, this position may be responsible for the food service department.
Job Responsibilities:
Create home-style, nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of their school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements. Prepare meals/snacks for children and staff. Distribute food to the classrooms following appropriate health and safety guidelines, and policies. Follow the daily menu provided by the Director which incorporates, USDA, licensing and/or health department regulations. Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed. Assists in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater. Are caring, compassionate and love what they do
Job Requirements:
Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility An understanding of all current state and local regulations Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work A High School diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years of age Must have a valid drivers license
