Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Lead to join our dynamic team at our butcher shop, deli, and retail space in Southport, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hospitality, bringing both creativity and a strong work ethic to our environment. As a Deli Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests receive high-quality foods and exceptional service in a fast-paced setting. While the base pay range is $15-$20 depending on experience, our team also participates in a tip share program that can add a few additional dollars an hour to that base. Duties Prepare and manage deli area according to established standards, between the hours of 10am and 6:30pm. Assist customers and staff in selection, education, and cuts. Assist in the setup and breakdown of deli and kitchen. Assist Executive Chef in kitchen when needed; line cook skills preferred. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli, adhering to food safety standards. Perform food handling tasks, including washing, cutting, and storing ingredients properly. Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices. Requirements Previous experience in a deli and food service is required. Familiarity with kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking techniques. Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality. Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills.
