Job Description
Kitchen Staff - General Responsibilities Kitchen staff are responsible for performing a full range of kitchen duties, including food preparation, line cooking, dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Food Preparation Duties Responsibilities may include: Preparing sauces, dressings, soups, and other menu items from scratch. Preparing fresh salads, including cutting, mixing, and portioning ingredients. Forming and preparing burger patties by hand. Cutting and preparing steaks and other meats according to established specifications. Preparing and portioning vegetables and other food items. Stocking and organizing line coolers and freezers to ensure ingredients are readily available. Maintaining proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures. Line Cooking Duties Line cooking responsibilities may include: Operating deep fryers, gas broilers, and griddles safely and efficiently. Preparing fresh salads and assembling sandwiches and other menu items. Following recipes, portion sizes, cooking times, and quality standards. Monitoring food quality and ensuring orders are prepared accurately and promptly. Rotating between stations and kitchen assignments based on business volume and staffing needs. Multitasking and managing multiple food preparation and cooking tasks during busy periods. Additional Responsibilities Perform dishwashing and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, equipment, and floors as required. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Maintain punctuality, reliability, and a professional work ethic. Be flexible and willing to learn and take on additional kitchen responsibilities. Safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds . Perform other duties as assigned by management.
