Job Description
Veno's Team Veno's Specialty Foods, LLC Prep Cook and Customer Service Associate Veno's Specialty Foods & Meats is seeking a motivated and reliable team member to join our kitchen and front-of-house staff. This position is vital to both the successful operation of our kitchen and maintaining an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Execute the daily prep list, which includes tasks such as measuring and prepping ingredients (washing/chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.), and undertaking basic cooking duties (e.g., reducing sauces, parboiling).Kitchen Maintenance:
Ensure the kitchen is clean and orderly by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and managing trash. Properly label and stock all ingredients and ensure food is stored correctly, adhering strictly to all nutrition and sanitation guidelines.Customer Service & Retail:
Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service, exceeding expectations. This includes managing cash and credit transactions, answering phones with proper etiquette, and preparing sandwiches and simple dishes (e.g., salads, entrees).Display & Sales:
Organize the storefront with attractive and fresh retail displays. Pack, price, weigh, and confidently recommend items from the display case to customers.Team Support:
Assist kitchen personnel with prep as needed and provide lateral coverage for other store personnel when necessary. Perform all duties as assigned by the Meat Manager, Store Manager, or Supervisor.Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in restaurant kitchens. Culinary training is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent. Strong work ethic, integrity, and a passion for exceptional customer service. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be able to comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices. Veno's will cover the cost of the required food handler certification. Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.Details:
Availability:
Weekend availability is required. Ready to work varied shifts.Store Hours:
Sunday 9 am- 2 pm ( later in Summer); Monday
- Saturday 9 am
- 6 pm.
Compensation:
