Job Description
John & Molly's Tavern is looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Food Expeditor to join our team. Restaurant experience is required for this position. The Food Expeditor plays a key role in coordinating food orders between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. This position helps ensure that every order is accurate, properly presented, complete, and sent out in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities Coordinate food orders between the kitchen, servers, bartenders, and managers Manage ticket flow and help keep orders moving efficiently during service Inspect food presentation, accuracy, temperature, sides, sauces, modifications, and garnishes before orders leave the kitchen Make sure each table's order is complete before food is delivered Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and servers regarding missing items, special requests, or ticket issues Maintain an organized, clean, and stocked expo workstation Assist with running food to tables when needed Help maintain smooth service during busy shifts Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards Contribute to a positive team environment and help improve guest satisfaction Requirements Restaurant experience required Expo, food running, serving, or kitchen experience required Strong attention to detail Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure Clear communication skills Must be dependable, punctual, and professional Ability to stand for long periods of time Evening and weekend availability required/preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who can act as the link between the kitchen and the front-of-house team. This person should be organized, quick-thinking, calm under pressure, and focused on accuracy, quality, and timely service. Schedule Part-time and full-time positions available. Evening and weekend availability is preferred. Compensation Hourly pay based on experience.
