Non•Exempt (eligible for overtime)
SUMMARY:
Kitchen Assistant is responsible for take down of the meal, disposal of any garbage, dishes from the meal, cleaning of the kitchen and dining room area, and assisting Chef in putting out dinner items. Availability Needs the following days and approximate times: Monday•
Thursday:
Lunch & Dinner 1:30p•complete (approximately 7:30p)
Friday:
Brunch 12-complete (approximately 2-3p)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
include completing the following as directed by the Chef and Facility Director.
Other duties may be assigned:
Afternoon, Dinner, and Brunch:
Wash all dishes, pots and pans. Put away any unused food. Clean buffet area, wipe down tables, and sweep dining room floor Clean Kitchen area after dishes, take out garbage, wipe down counters, sweep and mop the floor.
Daily:
Keep work area and dishwashing area clean. Clean coffee bar and refrigerator as needed. Clean counters thoroughly after each meal. Take out kitchen garbage Replenish condiments Clean entire kitchen (walls, floors, etc.) Other meal or kitchen duties as requested by facility director.
School Break and/or Closing responsibilities:
Clean all areas of the kitchen including counters and floors. Empty all trash bins in public areas of facility and dispose of trash in outdoor receptacle. Clean out refrigerators and freezers. Put away and store unused food items that will last through the break. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Able to train if needed
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the general public. Bi-lingual is a plus (Spanish).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
: General math and analytical skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Moderate. Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may occasionally involve minor deviations. Needs ability to think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Should be proficient with Word, Excel, and email.
