Job Overview We are on the lookout for a passionate and detail-oriented Garde Manger to join our culinary team. This role is all about creating visually appealing, flavorful cold dishes and appetizers that set the tone for a memorable dining experience. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble cold dishes such as salads, charcuterie boards, pâtés, and garnishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative cold dish ideas that align with seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the garde manger station, ensuring all food handling practices adhere to safety regulations. Support food preparation for catering events or special functions, ensuring timely delivery of beautifully plated items. Manage inventory levels of cold ingredients, monitor stock rotation, and report shortages or spoilage issues promptly. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless coordination between hot and cold food stations during service. Follow all food safety protocols diligently, including proper knife skills and sanitation procedures, to uphold hygiene standards. Skills Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and culinary techniques specific to cold dishes. Experience in fine dining settings or restaurant environments that emphasize high-quality food service. Proficiency in food handling, preparation, and safety practices within the food industry. Excellent knife skills and ability to prepare ingredients efficiently for meal assembly. Familiarity with catering operations and serving large groups is a plus.
