- Responsible for the daily preparation of lunch following standardized recipes and portion sizes.
- Safely handle and prepare ingredients for cooking.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as steam kettle, ovens, and food processors.
- Work cooperatively to meet service and kitchen goals.
- This position requires strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Follows all food service and sanitation requirements by the Franklin County Department of Health/ Columbus Public Health and Ohio Department of Agriculture. Skills
- PIC certified
- Routine cleaning operations in the kitchen area.
- Ensure that food items are presented attractively and meet quality standards.
- Able to assist with issues that may arise in the kitchens or with food deliveries.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good knife skills.
- Must be good at time management.
- Basic math skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling protocols.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools.
- Takes cross contamination seriously, and is able to effectively organize different diets & allergies.
- Can work independently.
- Appropriately mark, wrap, store, and bag products for use/storage.
- Ensure all food items are rotated using the FIFO (first in, first out) method. Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in executing the daily and weekly cleaning checklists for the kitchen.
- Help to make sure food and supplies are fully stocked by communicating with the Kitchen Lead.
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Track expiration dates of all food in the kitchen.
- Communicate with the Kitchen Lead daily about the food
- quantity, quality, and overall satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Kitchen Lead to resolve any lunch issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including countertops, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines to ensure the safety of food products.
- Empty trash bins, clean tables, and sanitize.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items.
- Reports to the Kitchen Lead.
Pay:
$16.00- $17.
