Full-time and part-time positions available About Rijsttafel Rijsttafel is a new fast casual Southeast Asian kitchen opening in Mount Vernon. We will serve build-your-own rice bowls, Banh Mi sandwiches, rice noodle salads, Gado Gado, steamed buns, and other flavorful menu items in a quick-service food hall setting. We are hiring our opening team. This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to be part of building a restaurant from the beginning, learn multiple areas of the operation, and grow into a leadership role. Position Overview We are looking for dependable, friendly, hard-working team members who are willing to help wherever needed. Team members will assist with food prep, cooking, assembling orders, counter service, cashiering, cleaning, and daily restaurant operations. We are also looking for candidates with leadership ability who may grow into a shift lead or manager role. Previous restaurant experience is helpful, but attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are most important. Responsibilities Team members may be responsible for: Preparing ingredients and following recipes Cooking and assembling menu items according to Rijsttafel standards Serving guests at the counter in a friendly and professional way Taking orders and checking guests out using the POS system Keeping the line stocked, clean, and organized Following food safety and sanitation procedures Washing dishes and maintaining a clean work area Assisting with opening and closing duties Helping with inventory, restocking, and prep lists Working as part of a small team and stepping in where needed Candidates interested in leadership may also help with: Training new team members Keeping the shift running smoothly Monitoring food quality and service speed Supporting daily checklists and procedures Communicating needs or issues to ownership What We Are Looking For The right person will be: Reliable and on time Friendly with guests and coworkers Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Willing to cook, prep, clean, serve customers, and cashier Able to follow recipes and procedures Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds Calm under pressure Honest, teachable, and team-oriented Experience Restaurant, food service, prep cook, line cook, cashier, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person. Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus for candidates interested in a shift lead or manager role. Schedule Daytime, evening, and weekend availability may be needed. Scheduling will depend on business needs and position level.
