Kitchen Helper

Job Overview We are a historic synagogue in NW Portland looking for a weekly kitchen helper to serve a pre-prepared buffet lunch on Saturdays. This is a temporary position that could lead to a permanent hire. Duties Lay out the buffet lunch in the dining room, following any instructions for presentation Monitor food levels to ensure servings are replenished as needed Wrap and refrigerate leftovers Wash and put away dishes/silverware Straighten up dining area and vacuum Leave kitchen clean and organized Follow all safety protocols related to knife skills, cooking techniques, and sanitation practices Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold food safety standards Handle food items safely, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination Experience Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential Basic knowledge of food handling, and kitchen safety procedures Friendly attitude and willingness to help guests with special requests Experience working in senior living culinary environment a plus!

Pay:

$18.50 - $28.00 per hour
