Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The person in this position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the nutrition program of EmBe Avera Childcare Centers, including food preparation, serving, ordering, and maintaining necessary supplies, delivering food to off-sites and classrooms, and cleanup. The kitchen assistant is looking to obtain a full-time staff. Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist with food preparation. Start breakfast, get carts ready, and help guide kids to the dining room at the time of the meal. Assist in serving breakfast and getting carts to the appropriate rooms Begin daily lunch preparation. Assist with dishes throughout the day and help support kids and teachers in the dining room Keep the fridges and freezers at the proper temperatures. Assist with lunch serving and prepare allergy foods for the day. Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists. Hold training in food service. Provide documentation with meals and daily cleaning sheets Keep the proper documentation up to date with allergy kids. Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies. Assist with delivering meals. Serve meals and kitchen cleanup. Teach children by modeling appropriate language and behavior. Treat all children with dignity and respect. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Food service training and/or work experience Basic housekeeping skills Flexibility in work assignments and hours Excellent written and oral communication skills Minimum age of 18 years Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a company vehicle No substantiated history of child abuse or neglect No staff member or volunteer will have a felony conviction on record within the past five years. No staff members name will appear on the sex offender's registry
