Responsibilities Assist in food preparation, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and standards Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, mixers, fryers, and food processors Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene by adhering to sanitation protocols and cleaning schedules Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on operational needs Ensure accurate food handling and portion control to meet quality standards and minimize waste Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production, serving times, and special dietary requests Maintain clear communication with team members regarding order status, ingredient availability, and safety procedures Requirements Previous experience in a food service environment or restaurant setting is highly preferred Knowledge of dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife handling—including slicing techniques—are essential Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently is required Understanding of food safety management practices and safety standards in production processes Ability to follow recipes accurately and ensure consistent meal quality Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel Experience in catering or large-scale meal service is advantageous A proactive attitude towards cleanliness, organization, and maintaining a safe work environment Embark on a rewarding culinary journey with us—where your skills will grow, your contributions are valued, and every shift brings new opportunities to excel!
