Full-Time / Part-Time Position Summary The Prep Station Team Member is responsible for preparing fresh ingredients and food items according to Fajita Pete's recipes, quality standards, and food-safety procedures. This position plays an important role in ensuring the kitchen is fully stocked and prepared for daily restaurant and catering operations. Key Responsibilities Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, sides, and other ingredients according to recipes and portion standards. Wash, cut, chop, portion, season, and properly store ingredients. Prepare food needed for daily service and scheduled catering orders. Follow established recipes and portion-control procedures. Label, date, rotate, and properly store all prepared food using FIFO procedures. Monitor prep levels and communicate shortages to the Kitchen Manager. Keep prep tables, cutting boards, utensils, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and sanitized. Maintain organized refrigerators, coolers, shelves, and storage areas. Follow proper food-handling, temperature-control, and sanitation procedures. Minimize food waste by following proper preparation and portioning standards. Assist the line and other kitchen stations during high-volume periods when needed. Complete opening, shift-change, and closing prep duties. Follow all company policies and manager instructions. Food Safety Standards The Prep Station Team Member must: Wash hands and change gloves as required. Prevent cross-contamination between raw and ready-to-eat foods. Maintain proper food temperatures. Use clean and sanitized equipment and work surfaces. Properly label and date prepared products. Immediately report food-quality, temperature, or equipment concerns to management. Qualifications Previous restaurant or food-preparation experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow recipes and written preparation instructions. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen. Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and portion control. Dependable and punctual. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Food Handler Certification as required by local regulations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry kitchen supplies. Ability to safely lift approximately 40-50 lbs. Ability to work around hot equipment, refrigeration, and wet surfaces.
