Job Description

NOLA Restaurant is looking for an organized, dependable Expo / Food Expeditor who can keep up with a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment. The Expo is the connection between our kitchen and front-of-house team and plays an important role in making sure every plate leaving the kitchen is accurate, complete, properly presented, and ready for the guest. Previous Expo or restaurant experience is preferred and will be considered when determining compensation. Candidates with demonstrated experience, strong menu knowledge, and the ability to confidently manage the expo window may qualify for higher starting pay. What You'll Do Coordinate food coming from the kitchen during service Read and organize tickets accurately Verify each order is complete before it leaves the kitchen Check plates for proper presentation, portions, modifications, and overall quality Pay close attention to allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests Communicate clearly with cooks, servers, food runners, and managers Help prioritize tickets and maintain efficient ticket times Make sure food is delivered to the correct table quickly Identify missing or incorrect items and communicate them immediately Keep the expo station clean, stocked, and organized Communicate delays, product shortages, or service issues before they become bigger problems Follow and help maintain NOLA's food quality and service standards What We're Looking For Previous Expo or restaurant experience preferred Relevant experience and demonstrated skill will be reflected in compensation Understanding of restaurant service and kitchen operations Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Able to read tickets and modifications quickly and correctly Strong sense of urgency Confident communicating with both FOH and BOH team members Able to stay calm and organized during high-volume service Comfortable speaking up when something is incorrect or does not meet standards Dependable and punctual Takes initiative without requiring constant direction Team-oriented, professional, and receptive to feedback What Success Looks Like at the Expo Window The Expo is the final quality check before food reaches our guests. If something is missing, incorrect, improperly presented, or does not meet NOLA's standards, we expect our Expo to recognize it, communicate it, and help get it corrected before the plate leaves the kitchen. This position requires someone who can keep track of multiple tickets, communicate between FOH and BOH, anticipate problems, and help the entire restaurant stay on pace.
