Responsibilities Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients for various dishes. Support cooking activities by helping with basic meal assembly and ensuring food is prepared according to safety standards. Help maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Aid in serving meals to guests or residents, ensuring timely and courteous service. Support dietary department needs by assisting with menu planning and meal presentation for special dietary requirements. Follow all food safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure high standards of hygiene are maintained. Participate in inventory checks, report shortages, and help with stock rotation to keep supplies fresh and organized. Skills Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is key. Previous kitchen or restaurant experience provides a strong foundation for this role. Knowledge of food handling safety practices and proper sanitation procedures. Basic knife skills and familiarity with food preparation techniques are desirable. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and assist with customer or resident inquiries.
