Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Helper and play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our food service environment. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. As a Kitchen Helper, you will assist chefs and dietary staff in preparing delicious meals, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food handling procedures meet industry regulations. This paid position is perfect for individuals passionate about the food industry and eager to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients for meal service Support cooking activities by organizing ingredients and ensuring proper food handling techniques are followed Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards Help with dishwashing, waste disposal, and general sanitation to ensure a hygienic work environment Organize storage areas, rotate stock, and ensure proper labeling of ingredients and supplies Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients according to dietary guidelines and meal requirements Serve meals to customers or residents in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols Qualifications Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is preferred but not required Basic knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices Experience working in kitchens, restaurants, or the food industry is advantageous Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques are a plus Ability to follow instructions carefully and work efficiently in a team environment Enthusiastic attitude with a keen interest in culinary arts and food service operations Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks Embark on a rewarding journey in the culinary world by applying your skills in a supportive environment that values growth, teamwork, and excellence.
