Job Description

Kitchen Assistant Laughlin Memorial Chapel is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant. Laughlin Chapel provides free afterschool and summer programs for K-5 children. The program operates approximately 40 weeks out of the year. The afterschool program is held Monday
  • Thursday, 3:00
  • 6:00. The summer program operates Monday
  • Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
There are no weekend or evening hours. Hiring now for the afterschool program, which begins September 7.
Pay:
minimum wage or above, depending on experience and qualifications.
General Duties :
under the supervision of the Kitchen Coordinator, the Kitchen Assistant is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing for the meal service, including trays, silverware, cooking equipment, eating and prep surfaces; helping to prepare and serve meals; helping to complete and pick up grocery orders; and other duties to ensure that meal service is efficient, pleasant, and safe. Qualifications
  • Some experience in food service is preferred.
  • Interest in food service and in understanding the required meal pattern for USDA reimbursed meals.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Welcoming, respectful, and helpful attitude with children.
  • Reliability.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
  • Food handlers certification or willingness to obtain certification (certification and training time will be paid).
