Job Summary:
The Facility Monitor is responsible for the appropriate use and cleanliness of all equipment and the Fitness Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Must be able to work all scheduled shifts, with strict attention to being on time. 2) Monitor activity participation throughout the Community Center. 3) Enforce, adhere to, and educate patrons on all rules, regulations, and policies regarding safe and proper use of the equipment and facility. 4) Routinely circulate the Community Center to ensure the proper safety practices by users in the fitness center, basketball gym, racquetball court, track, upstairs fitness rooms, bathrooms and all other areas of the facility. 5) Understand and demonstrate the proper way to use equipment upon request. 6) Report and document any malfunction, broken or missing equipment to the Community Center Manager and proper maintenance records. 7) Clean and "wipe down" all equipment on a regular basis as scheduled with documentation 8) Prepare incident and injury reports when appropriate. 9) Respond to and follow all emergency procedures. 10) Provide a friendly, customer service environment at all times. 11) Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1) First Aid/CPR certification preferred. 2) Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Needed:
1) Ability to understand, follow, and carry out oral and written instructions. 2) Ability to work unsupervised. 3) Attendance at work and the ability to get along with public, commission, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position.
