Lifeguard University of Colorado Colorado Springs - 4.1 Colorado Springs, CO Job Details Part-time $16.39 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Safety regulations Medical emergency response Surveillance Facilities routine maintenance First aid and CPR Full Job Description Ensures the safety of guests and program participants by enforcing facility, aquatics program and pool policies, procedures, and regulations. Performs a variety of regular and routine poolside and water safety duties to ensure the safe use of pool facilities. Provide high level of customer service to students, faculty/staff, internal and external UCCS constituents by responding to guests in a timely and cordial manner. Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies through knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques including water rescues, administering first aid, CPR, and other medical attention, as necessary. Maintain constant alertness and awareness of patron activities, both pool side and in locker rooms, to minimize exposure or threat of incident or accident. Conduct facility, equipment, and pool inspections, complete pool chemical logs, water quality checks, and report unsafe conditions to supervisory staff immediately. Attend and participate in continued education workshops and sessions Attend mandatory in-services each semester including skill checks and in-service trainings. Must check emails, employee group texts and communicate schedule changes. Maintain frequent communications with staff and supervisor. Assist with Campus Recreation and Aquatics program special events and rentals. • Performs scheduled service and maintenance of facility; cleans decks, walls, windows, pool equipment, locker rooms, and other assigned areas. Other duties as assigned Position will increase to $15.50 starting July 1st
