$19.50 The Denver Country Club Aquatics Department is looking for individuals that are committed to "creating a club atmosphere where absolute satisfaction is our highest priority." We are looking for people with great communication skills who can effectively communicate with membership and fellow staff members. Lifeguards and Swim Instructors help create a memorable pool experience by providing world class service and a personal touch to membership and their guests. They ensure every member and guest is greeted and the presentation of the facility is impeccable. They maintain constant surveillance of patrons in and around the pool facilities, and act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency, from administering care to swimmers' minor injuries, such as small cuts and bruises, to providing emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety in and around the pool facilities. Enforces and communicates rules at the pool to create a safe and fun environment for all. Performs required pool opening and closing duties. Ensures poolside chairs and tables are orderly and cleans up soiled towels and trash on the pool deck and surrounding areas. Maintains amenities in and cleanliness of locker rooms, bathrooms and showers. Maintains daily sign-in sheets and other reports. Assists Pool Manager with games during special events and pool parties. Performs miscellaneous job-related tasks assigned by the Pool Manager or Youth Director. Attends meetings and in-services as directed by the Pool Manager or Youth Director.PHYSICAL SKILLS
Duties of this position require the employee to sit, keel, stand, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, and attentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognition and identification of swimmers in distress or in the process of unsafe behaviors. This position requires proficient swimming ability, proper application of rescue and first‐aid techniques, and the ability to properly extract victims from the pool(s) to the deck.REQUIREMENTS
Must be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Those applying to teach swim lessons must be certified as a Water Safety Instructor or similar certification. One year previous lifeguard/swim instruction experience preferred. Individuals must be enthusiastic, hard-working, and willing to develop a positive rapport with children and adult members. Required to work July 4th and some other Club events and holiday weekends as needed. Preference will be given to those with availability from mid-May through mid-September. Position shifts will mostly fall between 10 am and 8 pm, seven days a week. Morning shifts, afternoon shifts, and full-day shifts are available. Preference given to those who can work at minimum 4 shifts per week.BENEFITS
