Come join our team on the Island of Much More!Aquatic Manager Responsibilities:
Greet members and guests with friendly demeanor and is welcoming to the team and membership. Develops, plans, and promotes aquatic programs for members and their guests. Oversees swim team execution and attend various practices and meets. Communicates programming to all other Club departments to maximize participation. Works closely with Fitness, Youth, and other Club staff and managers Attends all departmental, Club, and committee meetings and appearance as assigned. Complies with and implements departmental grooming standards. Complies with and implements departmental and Club policies and procedures. Works a variety of shifts as needed to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Manages maintenance of the Club's two indoor and three outdoor pools, the outdoor spa and kiddie pool, and the operation of the pool facilities, all equipment, filtration systems, and chemical balances. Oversees and maintains record of certification of aquatics staff. Sets annual and monthly departmental goals. Maintains current fees, licenses, and certifications required by the Club, City, County, and State Resolves member complaints in a timely manner and involves the Director of Wellness as needed. Maintains effective communication, and gives direction, support, timely feedback, and recognition of performance with employees. Maintains flow of communication to the Director of Wellness on all Aquatics offerings. Communicates clearly and efficiently with employees, receives information and feedback from employees, and acts based on observation and information received across all levels within the organization, including the responsibility for terminating employment when necessary. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains employees. Manages inventory of all supplies and chemicals. Creates aquatics programming. Overseas the maintenance of all pools. Administer schedules, employee performance evaluations, and coaching and counseling sessions as appropriate. Develops, monitors, and adheres to the department's annual budget. Communicate with co-workers, management, members, and others in a courteous and professional manner. Follows safety guidelines described in the operating procedures and generally practices behavior that ensures the safety of the employee, co-workers, members, and guests. Perform all other duties as assigned within job scope.Aquatic Manager Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience managing and supervising a resort-style Aquatics facility. Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, as well as current Lifeguard and Lifeguard Training Certification Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint Excel, and TEAMS. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to use a Club vehicle to drive to various pools. CPO, LGI, and swim certification (required or able to obtain within first 90 days of employment.) ISR certification preferred Aquatic Manager Critical Skills Outstanding verbal, written, and multi-tasking skills. Well-developed team skills, unquestioned confidence, and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships. Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations. Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and guests. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask in a high paced environment Ability to develop well thought out programs and events Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations Must have unquestioned confidence, and presence to effectively handle professional relationships with guardians Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to member Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as neededAquatic Manager Physical Requirements :
Frequent standing and walking to monitor activities, supervise staff, and oversee the pool area, youth programs, and recreational facilities Ability to move around quickly and respond to any issues or emergencies Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment, supplies, and materials (e.g., pool equipment, toys, games, first aid kits), which may weigh up to 50 pounds Assisting with setting up and breaking down events or activities Strong swimming skills are often required, especially for roles that involve overseeing aquatic programs The ability to perform water rescues if necessary, including physical strength and endurance to lift and pull individuals from the water in emergencies Regular bending, reaching, and stretching to set up equipment, check facilities, and engage with youth during activities Potentially climbing ladders to adjust or inspect equipment, depending on facility needs Extended periods of physical activity, especially during peak times like summer camps, swim meets, or special events The ability to work in different environmental conditions, including outdoor settings in varying weather, and humid or chlorinated environments near poolsSimilar jobs in Savannah, GA
