SUMMARY :
Do you want to work in a fun and rewarding environment? Westfield Child Center is looking for enthusiastic and responsible Lifeguards & Swim Instructors to join our team. Team members play an integral role in creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Weekday and weekend shifts are available! We are flexible with our shifts whenever possible and are looking for fun, reliable staff who can be fantastic role models for all of the children in our aquatic programs! This is the perfect position for both high school and college students. Lifeguard Certification is preferred but we can train those looking to get certified. In addition, there will be opportunities to shadow swim instructors and train prior to teaching on your own.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Up to date understanding of swim strokes and their mechanics (Training will be provided) Use objective decision making and maintain a calm disposition during all high pressure interactions or situations Have a developed understanding of different levels of swimming and various teaching styles. However, we will provide training on teaching swimming lessons. Enforce all aquatic center rules while maintaining a professional image. Enforce safety protocols. Develop and maintain positive relationships with program participants and staff at Westfield Child Center. Maintain a safe and enjoyable lesson that aims to progress participants swimming abilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:- Conduct swim lessons for individuals or groups of all ages and skill levels
- Teach proper swimming techniques, water safety, and basic rescue skills
- Plan and organize lesson plans to ensure progression and skill development
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students
- Ensure a safe and clean pool environment for lessons
- Assist with pool cleaning and maintenance as needed
