Jun 22, 2026 Job Description Worms, fish, and water. Does this sound like your thing? Come apply to be Everwood's Fishing Instructor, where you spend 6 hours a day fishing on the beautiful 392-acre Lake Massapoag and teaching campers the ropes to bait, cast, and catch (then release) fish on their own! Your role will be to facilitate 35-minute periods with campers ages 4-15 years old with the assistance of 1-3 counselors. Come join our vibrant and diverse team of leaders specializing in teaching in the great outdoors! This role runs through our 9 week summer program, from June 22nd to August 21st. Staff training on June 2nd, 4th, and 7th is also required.

IDEAL CANDIDATES

Camp staff who enjoy outdoor education and waterfront programming Students studying environmental education, recreation, education, biology, or natural sciences Experienced anglers who enjoy teaching beginners Coaches, teachers, or group leaders comfortable working with mixed-age groups Anyone excited to help campers develop independence, patience, and confidence in nature Most importantly, ideal candidates are eager to help campers learn new skills, connect with the outdoors, and experience the excitement of their first catch on Lake Massapoag.

DATES, HOURS, AND PAY

8:30am to 4:15pm (this includes a 30-minute break per day) June 22nd to Aug 21st (9 wks, preferred) or Aug 14th (8 wks) and hours are guaranteed. Monday to Friday each week except for July 3rd when we are closed. Salary range is $4225 and up for 9 weeks of work. Free Camper Tuition for up to 2 children of successful applicants (up to a $14,000 value) Paid Staff Training (additional $200 total) Tuesday June 2nd 4:30-9pm, Thursday June 4th 4:30-8pm, and Sunday June 7th 9am-4:30pm. All training will have meals provided. Extra income can be made (up to $1320), working as a Bus Counselor.

LOCATION

Sharon, Massachusetts - but with free bus transportation from all over MA! (Boston, Brookline, Somerville, Newton, Milton, Needham, Wellesley, Franklin, Walpole, and more!) Housing is not included.
