Job Description
The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks is accepting applications for the Lead Lifeguard Attendant (Year-Round) at various locations, including Dundalk and Randallstown Community Centers. Job Purpose Under direct supervision, will be responsible for safeguarding swimmers and non-swimmers at assigned facilities. Examples of Essential Job Duties Safeguards swimmers and non-swimmers who patronize County aquatics facilities, including at Dundalk and Randallstown Community Centers. Enforces established pool safety, swimming and facility rules and regulations to the public while providing excellent customer service to patrons. Keeps facilities clean and free from hazards. Monitors weather and water conditions. Alerts patrons to changing weather and water conditions. Performs routine tasks as assigned, such as opening and closing the facilities each day according to scheduled hours, monitoring activities in and around the water, directing swimmers, providing first aid and maintaining cleanliness of facilities. Performs the duties of a certified Aquatics Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator pertaining to water chemistry and disinfection, mechanical systems and operations, health and safety and daily operations and maintenance. Performs hourly checks of water quality and conditions. Adjusts pool chemicals as needed to ensure appropriate pH, chlorination and alkalinity. Serves as shift lead or head guard during assigned shift. Examples of Other Duties Performs other related duties as required. Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years of age by September 1, 2026
