Position:
(Purpose of the Position): Manage the Tostrud Climbing wall area and store room and enforce all wall policies and protocols.
Transferable Skills:
Vigilance and risk management awareness, punctuality, attention to detail, leadership, teaching climbing skills, reliability, communication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Open and close the wall, monitor belayers, check in climbers and dispense equipment, belay climbers, manage and enforce safety policies of the climbing wall. perform equipment inventory and daily safety checks, perform belay tests for students wishing to be certified to belay at our wall, enforce all wall policies and protocols.
Qualifications:
(Education/Experience/Skills) Must be belay certified, have CPR/AED certification.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., and operating hand tools to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, chemicals, wet or humid conditions indoors, proximity hazards, and heights to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required for some essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
